Hi! My name is Mrs. Cruzan and I am a first grade teacher! This will be my tenth year teaching first grade at Emerson Elementary. I love first grade and all the exploring, learning and fun we get to have.

I have a master's degree in Mathematical Education and I love to teach math! I could teach math all day, except that I love to read just as much! I became a first teacher because I love helping students become better readers, thinkers, problem solvers, and friends to others. First grades grow so much in just one year; it is so amazing to watch.

I grew up in Spokane, WA and moved over to Hoquiam thirteen years ago to be with my husband. I go to Spokane often to visit my parents who still live in Spokane.  

I have a seven year old son, named Dimitri, and a one year old son, named Nikolai. They sure do keep me on my toes but they really love hanging out with me while I am teaching.  

I can’t wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you!
