Hello!  My name is Shayne Folkers and I'm the US History teacher and ASB advisor here at Hoquiam Middle School.  

This will be my 14th year at HMS and I still love it!  I am married to my husband Garett, we celebrated our 24th anniversary this year, and we have 4 awesome kids!  

I am a proud graduate of HHS and went to Grays Harbor CC and Seattle University to play basketball and, of course, earn my degrees!  After Seattle U I transfered to Central Washington University to become certified in education!  My passion is history and civics and absolutely love teaching it!

My favorite things to do are watch my children play sports, travel and be a mom!
