HMS Families- Week at a Glance for next week. Girls Basketball in action on Monday and Wednesday, and our first group of 6th Graders goes to the Nutcracker Ballet in Seattle on Thursday. Again, a 1:50 dismissal for students on Friday. Have a good weekend!

HMS Families-That should be 1:50 on the early release, not 1:20 today. Sorry for the confusion.

HMS Families-In case you didn't get the notification from the school district, due to road conditions, the district is on a 2 hour delay today on Friday. AND we are still on a 1 hour early release today. School will start at 10:20 and be released at 1:20. Drive safely out there.

This is the Hoquiam School District's Inclement Weather Guidelines. It includes information on how the district will get word out on any school delays or closures.
Please take a moment to read it!

A couple weeks ago the Hoquiam School District sent out information about a survey for parents/guardians and stakeholders. We wanted to put this reminder up with some information in case you haven't had a chance to take that survey yet. The closing date is Friday, December 2. We appreciate your feedback, as we try to build a better school experience for our students. Attached is a picture of the letter with more information from the district. You can use a smartphone and scan the QR Code, and that takes you to the survey. For those that want to use your computer, here is the link: https://ceesurveys.questionpro.com/a/TakeSurvey?tt=I5i8GymjdKkECHrPeIW9eQ%3D%3D&&CID=312621&CSMOD=Y&DVB=876786
Thank you!

Today's Girls Basketball game against Miller Jr. High has been rescheduled to Wednesday December 7th. 7th grade will play at 4:00, and 8th Grade at 5:15.

We were just informed that Aberdeen has cancelled their evening games tonight due to the number of ill students they have. That means the Girls Basketball games scheduled with Miller tonight will need to be rescheduled. We will let everyone know as soon as we have a new date. We apologize for the late change. All teams will practice after school today.

Week at a Glance: Busy week for athletics...Girls Basketball in action Monday at home and Wednesday at Rochester. JV will play at home Wednesday. Wrestling on the road on Tuesday and at home on Thursday. Reminder to 6th graders, your permission slips for the Nutcracker Ballet Trip are due on Wednesday. Hope you all had a great holiday break.

6th Grade Parents-Great opportunity for our 6th grade students. Prior to the Covid Pandemic it was a yearly tradition to have the 6th Graders from Harbor schools attend the Nutcracker Ballet put on by the Pacific Northwest Ballet Company. This year, due to the lack of bus drivers, and the fact that no one in our office has been a part of this, it looked like we were going to miss out on this. But thanks to Jessica Hoover from the Grays Harbor Community Foundation, and Ms. Glasgow, who has been working the phones like a Rock Star...and a lot of help from the North Beach School District transportation folks...it looks like our 6th graders will get an opportunity to bring this tradition back this year. We are sending home permission/information slips today (Wednesday) for your student to attend. We really need those slips back by Wednesday, November 30 because we need a count for tickets and transportation. Wednesday is a HARD deadline. If you are interested in chaperoning, there is an option on the permission slip. There are limited numbers of spots for chaperones, so first come first served. Chaperones must be able to pass a background check. For more information, please call the HMS office...360-538-8220. Thank you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Monday 11/21: The after school program site supervisor is ill, and thus we need to cancel After School Program at HMS today. Students should take their normal means of getting home. Sorry for the late notice, we just received word.

Here is our Week at a Glance for this week: Reminder we have a 90 minute early release on Wednesday, which means school is dismissed at 1:20. No School Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving Break. We hope you all are able to find and celebrate the things you are thankful for!

Due to illness, there are no E-Sports today (Tuesday, November 15). Stay tuned daily...
