Mrs. Huett has been dedicating her time and effort to teaching Homelink students the art of sewing. This hands-on activity not only provides them with a valuable, lasting skill but also supports their emotional growth by encouraging patience, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment. 🪡🧵 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Hi Hoquiam families! We're excited to start using our new two-way communication system, Rooms, for the new semester. It will be located right in your Hoquiam app! Make sure you create your account prior to then. A second round of invites will be sent on Dec 13- please review our Rooms Support page on the website if you have any questions.

Mrs. Kellogg's Transitional Kindergarten and Mrs. Cooper's First Grade class at Emerson Elementary have been working with the Hoquiam High School woodshop. Their 'shop buddies' helped them make reindeer to take home to their families. What a fun way for the older students to help their younger classmates! #WeAreHoquiamSD 🎅 🦌

Just a reminder-- The deadline to purchase a senior recognition ad for the yearbook is Wednesday Dec 11th. It is also the deadline to turn in all pictures and messages for the ad. Please see Mrs. King with any questions. 360-538-8210 ext 6526.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Second grade students from Lincoln Elementary read the book ‘Snowmen at Night’ by Caralyn Buehner.
The students then created beautiful art projects of their "Snowmen at Night" on display in the West Wing at Lincoln. Young artists in the making! 👩🎨👨🎨#WeAreHoquiamSD

Students at Lincoln Elementary are doing their monthly lesson on shorebirds in preparation for their field trip to see them in real life. What a cool way to learn about the creatures around us! 🪶 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Our School Board attended the WWSSDA Annual Conference 2024 at the Spokane Convention Center & Davenport Grand. At this year's event, titled "Perspective," the team learned about AI, state budgets, school improvements, and culture of trust during their breakout sessions. This was an inspiring conference that enables our staff to continue their learning, which in turn makes a difference in student learning and achievement. 🐻😍#WeAreHoquiamSD

Say hello to two-way messaging and classroom announcements in the Hoquiam app! With the addition of Rooms, our district app keeps getting better. Our first round of invites have been sent. Parents/guardians check your email/text for instructions to sign up and access new features.

At HHS, you’ll often find students spending lunch in Mr. Jump’s classroom. Whether they’re chatting, getting help with homework, or just enjoying the space, it’s a hub of activity. On rainy Fridays, the room transforms into a fun retreat, where students gather to play board games or cards. 😊 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Say “hello” to two-way messaging in the Hoquiam app! The same district app now offers class streams, class announcements, and parent-teacher chat. Look for your personalized invitation to begin using this feature in our app after Dec 2.

Congrats to these two tech-savvy students on achieving their Microsoft Word Certification! We love helping students build life skills they can use beyond the classroom. 💻 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Mr. Chávez’s 10th grade World History class transformed into an East Asia exhibit! 🌏
Students showcased their chosen country by presenting hand-made flags, explaining the meanings behind their colors and symbols, and sharing timelines of key historical events. 📜
In this exhibit-style setup, students had the chance to present multiple times to small groups, sharing how each flag reflects the country's unique identity, culture, and politics. It was a dynamic way to see how history comes to life! #WeAreHoquiamSD

Some of our high school students got to embark on a challenging but rewarding physical education class with Marine recruiters SSGT James and SGT Marquez. It was a little rainy, but a rainbow appeared to brighten the workout! 🏃♀️🏃🌈 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Buddy reading at its best! 📚✨ Students from Ms. Marll’s 2nd grade class and Mrs. Jones’ 4th grade class at Lincoln Elementary are teaming up twice a month to work on reading fluency, comprehension, and building a strong sense of community. It’s all about growing together, one page at a time! ❤️👦👧 #WeAreHoquiamSD
