The Board of Directors of Hoquiam School District No. 28 will hold: • Work Session Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary • Regular Meeting Thursday, January 16th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hoquiam High School Library.

January is School Board Recognition Month! Today, we'd like to shout out School Board Member & Vice President, Don Oliver. As a Class of 1996 graduate of Hoquiam High School, Don wanted to give back to the community that shaped him. By being on the School Board, Don hopes to make a positive impact on our schools by supporting students, teachers, and families. With a focus on practical solutions and a strong connection to Hoquiam, Don is committed to helping create opportunities for every student to succeed. ❤️#WeAreHoquiamSD

Chris is a retired Engineering Group Supervisor who is very interested in all the Hoquiam School District programs related to STEM. As a Grizzly alumni and and former band/choir/drama participant, Chris has a passion for the arts and is proud of our arts programs. He also champions Hoquiam School District's other academic, leadership, and sports programs, as he knows they are all part of a well-rounded education. Chris is grateful for his opportunity to prepare our students for personal lifetime fulfillment and success while ensuring a peaceful yet exciting future for all of us. This holiday season, Mr. Chávez's Spanish 2 students partnered with Blair Jones, Executive Director of Amer Empowerment Resilience, to spread some holiday cheer! Students wrote thoughtful holiday cards in Spanish for senior citizens across Grays Harbor County, bringing joy and festive spirit to our community. From heartfelt messages to fun holiday imagery, the students had a blast spreading kindness and cheer. 🌟💌 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Mrs. Huett has been dedicating her time and effort to teaching Homelink students the art of sewing. This hands-on activity not only provides them with a valuable, lasting skill but also supports their emotional growth by encouraging patience, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment. 🪡🧵 #WeAreHoquiamSD

Mrs. Kellogg's Transitional Kindergarten and Mrs. Cooper's First Grade class at Emerson Elementary have been working with the Hoquiam High School woodshop. Their 'shop buddies' helped them make reindeer to take home to their families. What a fun way for the older students to help their younger classmates! #WeAreHoquiamSD 🎅 🦌

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Second grade students from Lincoln Elementary read the book ‘Snowmen at Night’ by Caralyn Buehner.
